About me

About the founder - Hi, I am the "ceo" (sole employee, for now) of Calgary3DCreators. I'm 17, transgender and partially blind, which is why the site text is larger than normal. I like technology and creativity, inclusivity, and staying out of conflict, and music. I started this company because I was bored and saw a good deal for a 3D printer on marketplace, and figured why not market it. I was blown away by the absolutely limitless possibilities of 3D printing, metal machining, and my first real shock was when I designed and 3D printed my own adapter for a kitchen sink tap. I designed the part in 30 seconds and printed it in about 3600 seconds. From then on. I made things for my friends, my family, and eventually made an ad on FB Marketplace and Kijiji. I did so poorly with my first client I cried for about 30 minutes in the car after I delivered her order, but didn't quite give up.

I've worked with a couple people over the course of the company. My first partnership was with my best friend who designed my logo and business cards. While the business cards could have been done so much better, I really love the look of our current logo but we may be changing it soon to reflect skeuomorphic designs (remember old iPhones, how everything looked realistic? That was called skeuomorphism, and we loved it).

The company vision

I have a goal of one day, an in person location that goes as follows

  • Walk in, or call ahead and describe what you want created. We will assign a team to work with you.

  • Describe in detail what you need, what you need its functions to be, what material you want it to be, when you'd like it completed by, and any other important details. If it's something simple like a customized phone case, there's a chance you could be in and out within a few hours with your new item in hand.

  • Pay your materials cost, take a business card and leave.

  • If you have a model already, perfect! Send it over and we send back your price. Then you confirm or deny and you can either pick it up or have it same/next day shipped, depending on the time of day and size of order.

  • We want to be able to provide metal services, like CNC lathing, laser engraving and cutting, and services like custom clothing and fabrics works. At some point, we may even get into circuit board manufacturing.

  • Someday we may even do vinyl cutting, stickers, etc.

Our history

Well, I gotta be honest with you, I didn't really know where I was going at the start.

When i started, I thought it would be best to offer our services to people who knew what they were doing, even I thought it was too complicated to consider opening up to the whole market of people. But I realized that most who knew what they were doing already owned a 3D printer, so I decided it was time to open up to more people. I made this website, made more generalized advertisements, and I ran a little marketing campaign around my high school that got lots of hits but not a lot of bites because we were still technically orientated. I designed this site to be easy to access approach, understand, and learn about.

Since then, we've had clients small as a one time order of something using less than one gram of material, and big as about 12 kilograms of solid blocks for molds, and from names as big as the National Music Center.

There is still so much left for us to improve upon, to grow with, to design and to produce.

(If you have any questions and or suggestions, I'd love to hear them. You can email calgary3dcreators@gmail.com).

Since the launch of our company in late 2025, we've had a few customers point out flaws within our system, and instead of getting upset at them we took it in stride and fixed our issues. If you notice anything, feel free to let us know.
